Caroline M. Mickiewicz, 93, mother of priest
A funeral Mass was offered Dec. 28 at St. Michael’s Church in Cohoes for Caroline Mickiewicz, who died in her Waterford home Dec. 21. She was 93.
A native of Cohoes, she worked for the New York Telephone Company as an operator and engineering studies clerk for 34 years.
In retirement, she volunteered as a sacristan for St. Michael’s Church and was a member of St. Michael’s Rosary Society and Telephone Pioneers of America. She was an Apostle of the Sisters of the Resurrection in Castleton.
Mrs. Mickiewicz is survived by her sons, Rev. David Wm. Mickiewicz, pastor of St. Mary’s in Oneonta, and Mark Joseph Mickiewicz of Waterford, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Mary Jadwiga Ziemba Rymanowski; her husband, William Joseph Mickiewicz; and her siblings, John Rymanowski, Francis J. Rymanowski and Rose Juneau. Interment was at Saint Michael’s Cemetery, Waterford.
