Bishop invites St. Clare's pensioners to Dec. 20 listening session

A preliminary conversation concerning St. Clare’s pension program will be held Thursday, Dec. 20, beginning at 3 p.m., at the Sarazen Student Union (SSU) at Siena College in Loudonville. Sponsored by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Albany, the listening session will be an opportunity for Bishop Edward B. Scharfenberger to hear from those directly and personally affected by the pension crisis and identify needs.

The Dec. 20 event, which is the first in what will likely be an ongoing conversation, will be moderated by the Honorable Victoria A. Graffeo, retired judge of the New York State Court of Appeals. Other panel members will include a certified public accountant and a business and leadership consultant, who will assist in moderating the event.

Due to space restrictions, the event is open to the first 280 people who register, either by telephone, 518-453-6612, or by email, [email protected]. The Diocese of Albany is respectfully requesting that only those people who are personally and directly affected by the pension crisis attend in order to accommodate those who most need to participate. Attendees are asked to enter the campus from Route 9 and follow signs for SSU.
