Who's afraid of the big bad 2000?
"I think the Y2K problem is way out," said Justin Fitch. "It's outlandish. No matter what the problems are, we can cope with it. It's not the end of the world. The next day, we'll get up and live our lives."
Jenneane Butler doesn't think about the new millennium much because she doesn't anticipate any problems. "I don't think it will change our lifestyles," she said. "It's not going to affect us that much."
While the members of the class of 2000 aren't worried, they do think it's exciting to be a part of the celebration. "I think it's great," said Jeb Towne, "especially since I'm in the class of 2000. It separates us from every other class."
Justin agrees. "We're the first generation of the new millennium," he said. "It's weird, but it's something special."
But one member of the class of 2000 is tired of all of the talk of the millennium. "I'm sick of it," said Meghan O'Connor. "It's just another year." (MM)
