ABUSE PREVENTION
Virtus training continues in Diocese
"Protecting God's Children," developed by Virtus, a division of the National Risk Retention Group, has been selected by the Albany Diocese as its educational program for the prevention of child sexual abuse.
The program has three main objectives: awareness of child sexual abuse, knowing the signs of such abuse and knowing what to do if abuse is suspected. The ultimate goal is to provide safe environments for children and young people.
The program is being offered throughout the Diocese. No registration is required, but it would be helpful for planners and can be done on-line. The following are upcoming presentations (go to www.rcda.org to keep updated).
