JOINT PRESENTATION
Upcoming workshop to focus on leadership by women
St. Bernard's
The four-hour seminar at the First Reformed Church in
The presenter will be Dr. Miriam Therese Winter, a professor of liturgy, worship, spirituality and feminist studies at Hartford Seminary in
"I deeply believe in the power, action and presence of the Spirit in our lives," she told The Evangelist. "I also believe that women are born leaders. Because of our nature, the innate capacity for leadership can be channeled positively where it can freely flourish."
In her presentation, Dr. Winter hopes to help women discover what resources and support mechanisms are already in place so they can tap their leadership skills.
"There isn't a rule book on how to do this," she explained. "What I hope to do in my presentation is to increase each participant's awareness of what he or she has been given as a gift."
(The Oct. 13 workshop requires reservations. Call 462-2470 or go to www.capitalrtc.org.)
