DECADES OF MINISTRY
Two mark 60 years
Together, they have served the Church and Jesus for 120 years
Two priests of the Albany Diocese are noting the 60th anniversary of their 1946 ordinations:
* Rev. John Caldara, a native of Schenectady, has served at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, Albany; Our Lady of the Assumption, Schenectady; St. Michael's, Amsterdam; St. Anthony's, Herkimer; and St. Mary's, Oneonta.
He was then named pastor of the latter church and later held the same position at Sacred Heart, Margaretville. In 1970, Father Caldara was appointed pastor of St. John the Baptist, Valatie, where he ministered until his retirement in 1990.
* Rev. Patrick Lynch, a native of New York City, was ordained for the Diocese of Brooklyn. After ten years there, he was incardinated into the Albany Diocese and named assistant pastor at St. Ann's, Albany; St. Columba's, Schenectady; St. Peter's, Delhi; St. Patrick's, Catskill; and St. Mary's, Frankfort.
He was administrator and then pastor of St. Joseph's, West Winfield. Subsequently, he served at St. Paul's, Troy, and in the Chancery Accounting Office. He retired in 1987.
