Three new pastors appointed
* REV. JOSEPH DWORAK has been appointed pastor of St. Joseph's parish in Fort Edward, replacing Rev. James Rosch.
A native of Green Island who was ordained in 1965, Father Dworak has been an assistant at Our Lady of Victory parish in Troy, St. Vincent de Paul in Cobleskill (while chaplain at SUNY-Cobleskill) and St. Teresa of Avila in Albany, as well as chaplain at Albany Medical Center.
From 1978 to 1983, he was pastor of Our Lady of Victory in Troy. Since 1983, he has served as chaplain for St. Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam.
* REV. MARTIN FISHER has been appointed pastor of Corpus Christi parish in Round Lake, replacing Rev. Edward Pratt.
A Fort Edward native, Father Fisher was ordained in 1986 and served as an assistant at St. Paul the Apostle parish in Schenectady, vice-chancellor of the Albany Diocese, chaplain to the Sisters of the Holy Names, pastor of St. Mary's in Glens Falls and assistant at St. Ambrose in Latham. He is active in the Catholic charismatic movement.
* REV. ROBERT HOHENSTEIN has been appointed pastor of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel parish in Schenectady, replacing Rev. Joseph Mancuso.
An Albany native ordained in 1968, Father Hohenstein was an assistant at Our Lady Help of Christians parish in Albany while teaching at Cardinal McCloskey High School there, and served as chaplain at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany.
He was named pastor of Our Lady Help of Christians in 1975 and remained there until the parish closed last February. He also served as dean of the Albany City Deanery.
