Teens share ideas on why they're Catholic
I have never for an instant doubted the Lord. He was always there through thick and thin whenever I needed Him. Throughout the entire divorce of my parents, I never felt that I was walking alone on the path of life in which we follow.
When I fell from emotional trauma, God was always there to lift me to my feet again. And now I have become so strong in my faith that nothing can stop me.
It is obvious to people that I am a Catholic because of the manner in which I conduct myself. I put great pride in myself and in the Catholic Church. I believe that others can simply see in my face when I walk down the street how I possess the confidence and great faith that Our Lord Jesus Christ is there, walking beside me, protecting me and helping me along my journey throughout life.
I also make it noticeable to others that I am a Catholic by the respect and dignity that I instill in each and every person I meet along my journey.
The task which we Catholics take on is not an easy one by any means. We first must believe entirely in our Lord and put complete faith in Him before we can even make an attempt to spread the Good News to others. We must set an example that will be remembered for generations to come.
We as Catholics yearn to possess the love Jesus had for everyone and everything. To be a good Catholic is to exceed complete and total devotion to the one true Lord, our God. It is not letting anything come before the Lord. It is honoring and cherishing your relationship with the Lord to the fullest extent.
There is more to being a good Catholic than the religious aspect. The word 'Catholic' by definition means 'open to the whole world.' Therefore, we as Catholics are against discrimination of any man, woman or child in any form. A very good way to start is with our own actions. I am completely against discrimination. This aids in making it evident to others that I am a Catholic.
If you put your faith and love in our Lord Jesus Christ, this will aid your entrance into heaven. Now what is more important? I, as a Catholic, have never and will never place anything before the Lord. I only hope that my faith will carry out through my adulthood.
