Judy Cox, a teacher at St. Pius X School in Loudonville, asks students to write a prayer for their classmates as they prepare to graduate from eighth grade. Here are some samples:

Dear God,

As we all go on our different ways next year, I'd like to thank you for giving us wonderful memories and experiences this year and all of the years we have been at St. Pius.

Every individual has changed our lives for the better. They will not be forgotten. You have put us in situations that have brought us closer, and we thank you because of that.

Lord,

I have found that each and every person in my graduating class has, in some way, touched my life. Maybe with a memory, a joke, a simple word or phrase, or maybe just with a smile that made an impact on my life. Please protect them as they enter high school.

This is a scary time for all of us. This is the time we really need you, so please be with us.

Dear God,

Thank you for bringing me to St. Pius X School. Thank you also for each day that I have spent with my classmates. I pray that each of them will have successful futures and accomplish all that they hope for. I pray that each of them will be able to fulfill their dreams and goals.

I pray that we all have a wonderful four years in our high schools and that we all remain the best of friends as we meet new people. I wish they each get good grades and have great friends throughout the years.
