Hispanic gatherings of the Charismatic Renewal are held monthly at St. Michael's, Sacred Heart/St. Columba's or St. Patrick's. The gatherings alternate between Spanish Mass one month (if a priest is available) and an Asamblea Cristo Vive, an Assembly of the Living Christ, the next month.
Deacon Ramon Tapia from Sacred Heart/St. Columba's leads the Asamblea, which consists of prayer, Rosary, exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, and communion. The service lasts about two hours. An Asamblea is held when a priest is not available to celebrate Mass. For more information, call Nilda Colon at 843-0004.
A monthly prayer vigil also will be celebrated at Immaculate Conception Church in Glenville to bring Hispanics together to pray for more Hispanic priests to come to the Albany Diocese. For more information about the vigils, call Olga Tapia at 399-5028. (PQ)
