Sister Mary Thomasine Boncaldo, RSM

A funeral Mass was offered Nov. 14 in the Chapel of the Convent of Mercy, Albany, for Sister Mary Thomasine Boncaldo, who died Nov. 7. She had been a Sister of Mercy for 71 years.

A native of Troy, she taught in Blessed Sacrament and Vincentian Schools, Albany; Annunciation, Ilion; St. Patrick's, Johnstown; St. Patrick's, Watervliet; Our Lady of Mercy, Colonie; and St. Patrick's, Cohoes. She also served for a year on the staff of Still Point House of Prayer in Stillwater, was house coordinator for Catholic Charities' Community Maternity Services in Albany, and did outreach to residents at Hudson Shore Apartments in Watervliet and in the motherhouse's infirmary.

She donated her body to Albany Medical College.
