OBITUARY
Sister Mary Theresa Murphy, CSJ
A native of East Springfield, N.Y., she was a nurse at St. Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam and at Little Falls Hospital before entering religious life. As a sister, she returned to St. Mary's Hospital School of Nursing as an instructor and director of nursing service; she became the hospital's assistant administrator until 1972, then was president and CEO until 1980. She guided St. Mary's through constructing a new hospital building and adding services. Later, she worked at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Albany and spent many "retirement" years as office assistant for the diocesan Counseling for Laity Office.
Survivors include a sister, Ann. Interment was in Our Lady Queen of Virgins Cemetery, Latham.[[In-content Ad]]
