Sister Mary Helen Oswald, RSM

A funeral Mass was offered May 17 at the Convent of Mercy chapel, Albany, for Sister Mary Helen Oswald, who died May 12. She had been a Sister of Mercy for 73 years.

A native of Brooklyn, she taught at St. John's School in Rensselaer; St. Agnes, Cohoes; St. John the Baptist, Schenectady; St. Paul's, Troy; St. Mary's, Oneonta; St. Mary's, Gloversville; Sacred Heart, Watervliet; St. Mary's, Waterford; St. Mary's, Ballston Spa; St. Patrick's, Johnstown; and Watervliet Elementary School. She taught religious education at Sacred Heart parish in Sidney and St. James in North Creek and later served in healthcare ministries. Interment was at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, East Greenbush.[[In-content Ad]]
