OBITUARY
Sister Mary Genevieve Smith, RCSJ
A native of St. Louis, she was a librarian and then, as a sister, she taught third grade and did bookkeeping in California. In 1971, she co-founded Abba House of Prayer in Albany with Sister Elizabeth Hoye, offering retreat opportunities for religious and laypeople - which dovetailed with her ecumenical work - for three decades. She last served as a parish secretary and sacristan in California.
Survivors include a sister, Margaret Smith of Sherwood, Ore. Interment was in Sacred Heart Cemetery at Kenwood, Albany.[[In-content Ad]]
