Sister Joan Teresa Groth, CSJ

A funeral Mass was offered Nov. 9 in the chapel of St. Joseph's Provincial House, Latham, for Sister Joan Teresa Groth, who died Nov. 6. She was 90 and had been a Sister of St. Joseph of Carondelet for 71 years.

A native of Syracuse, she was a teacher and principal in schools in the Syracuse and Albany Dioceses; superintendent of Catholic schools in Broome County; novice director, juniorate director and provincial superior for her religious order; worked in the Albany diocesan Office of Religious Education; and was a spiritual director and retreat facilitator.

Interment was in Our Lady Queen of Virgins Cemetery, Latham.[[In-content Ad]]
