Sister Dorothy Copson, DC

A funeral Mass was offered Jan. 27 in the chapel of DePaul Provincial House, Menands, for Sister Dorothy Copson, who died Jan. 21. She was 91 and had been a Daughter of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul for 72 years.

A native of Boston, she ministered in child care in Pennsylvania, taught in West Virginia and spent more than 20 years working with emotionally-disturbed children at the Astor Home for Children. She also served as the local community superior. For many years, she served at St. Catherine's Center for Children in Albany, which named its library and Copson House residence for her. After retiring, she spent 17 years as sacristan of DePaul Provincial House chapel.

Survivors include her sister, Jean. Interment was at St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.[[In-content Ad]]
