Sister Christine Maria Barton, CSJ

A funeral Mass was offered Jan. 8 in the chapel of St. Joseph's Provincial House, Latham, for Sister Christine Maria Barton, who died Jan. 3. She was 89 and had been a Sister of St. Joseph of Carondelet for 63 years.

A native of Albany, she served in the Coast Guard Women's Reserves and taught in schools in the Albany and Syracuse Dioceses and in Kailua and Kahului, Hawaii; and did clerical work at The College of Saint Rose in Albany, the Dominican Retreat and Conference Center in Niskayuna, St. Casimir's School, and St. Joseph's Provincial House in Latham.

Survivors include a brother, Daniel. Interment was in Our Lady Queen of Virgins Cemetery, Latham.[[In-content Ad]]
