OBITUARY

Sister Ann Shea, DC

A funeral Mass was offered Feb. 18 in the DePaul Provincial House chapel, Menands, for Sister Ann Shea, who died Feb. 13. She was 86 and had been a Daughter of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul for 59 years.

A native of Boston, she taught in Ohio and then served at Catholic Charities in New York City, Brooklyn, Albany and South Bronx/Harlem; in foster care in Buffalo; at parishes in New Jersey, Utica and Massachusetts; and as head of Laboure Center in South Boston and Nazareth Center in Boston. She also coordinated relief efforts of the Archdiocese of New York after the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks.

Survivors include a brother, Rev. Bill Shea. Interment was in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.[[In-content Ad]]
