Sidebar: Sister Linda's history
Born in Troy, Sister Linda Hogan was raised in Wynantskill and belonged to St. Jude's parish. After graduating from Catholic Central High School in Troy, she entered the convent in 1965 and attended The College of Saint Rose in Albany.
Sister Linda taught at Binghamton Catholic Central High School and St. John the Baptist School in Syracuse; while teaching in Syracuse, she professed her final vows.
After studying at Saint Louis University, she spent nearly six years working in a release-time religious education program at two public high schools in Syracuse. She then went to Our Lady of Lourdes parish in that city and was involved in religious education and liturgy.
While at Our Lady of Lourdes, Sister Linda felt called to ministry in Alaska after reading about missionary work in a religious publication. (PQ)
