INFO SESSIONS
Schools Office hosting receptions
Sister Mary Jane Herb, superintendent of Catholic schools in the Albany Diocese, and the administrative staff of her office are hosting a series of receptions called "Centered in Faith...Focused on the Future."
The purpose of the meetings is to report to the community on the state of Catholic schools and celebrate the future of Catholic education.
According to a press release from the Catholic School Office, the receptions are not fund-raising occasions but "simply the office's way of spreading the good news to alumni, friends and supporters of Catholic schools about [the staff's] vision to grow the schools and make Catholic education more accessible to all."
Topics discussed at the meetings include what makes a Catholic school a Catholic school, why Catholic education is important, ways to get involved, reconnecting with alumni, and tuition assistance and scholarship funds.
According to Nicki Pezzulo, director of development for Catholic Schools, "Hearing the community's questions, concerns and ideas is integral to the success of development and marketing efforts for the system of Catholic schools. It's all about spreading excitement about the mission of Catholic education as we move into a new era for Catholic schools."
(Three receptions have already been held for about 60 people. The next one will take place Sept. 6, 5:30-7 p.m., in Albany. For information, call Ms. Pezzulo at 453-6676.)
