The women's soccer team at the College of Saint Rose in Albany continued their dominance over the weekend, defeating Franklin Pierce 2-1 on Nov. 8 for their third consecutive Northeast-10 Cham-pionship.

Kimberly Morton and Carly Pengelly scored the two goals for St. Rose, who finished the regular season 21-0 and rank #2 in the nation among Division II schools.

With the victory, St. Rose set a school record for victories in a single season and became only the third team to win three straight NE-10 titles since the conference began hosting championships in 1985.

Morton put the Golden Knights up 1-0 in the 30th minute and Pengelly, a freshman, scored what would prove to be the game-winner in the 80th. Franklin Pierce (16-4-1) scored with less than two minutes remaining, but St. Rose was able to hold on.

Next up for St. Rose is the NCAA Tournament, which begins Nov. 14.

Holy Names
The Academy of Holy Names soccer team had their season come to an end on Nov. 3 with a 3-1 loss to South Glens Falls in the semi-finals of the Class A tournament. Shelby Wood scored a goal for Holy Names, but it was not enough. The Colonial Council champions finished the season with a 15-4 overall record, going 9-3 in the conference.

Siena basketball
The Siena Saints men's basketball team will begin their season Nov. 13 at Tennessee State. The defending two-time MAAC Champions just missed making the Top 25 for the first time in school history, ranking 27th in the Associated Press Poll and 28th in the coaches' poll.

The Saints will have their home opener on Tuesday, Nov. 17 at noon against Northeastern. The game will be aired on ESPN as part of special presentation where the sports network will show live college basketball games for 24 hours.
