OBITUARY

Rev. James Czerwinski, OFM


A funeral Mass was offered Jan. 8 at St. Anthony's Shrine, Boston, for Rev. James Czerwinski, OFM, who died Jan. 2. He was 67 and had been a Franciscan friar for 42 years and a priest for 37. A native of Buffalo, he taught high school there and served his religious order, then ministered at a New Jersey parish. From 2002-05, he was director of St. Francis Chapel in Albany and vicar of the friar community at Siena College in Loudonville. He then served other parishes in Buffalo and New Jersey and was in leadership positions for his order there and in Boston. Survivors include a brother, Thomas, of Buffalo. Interment was in St. Joseph's Cemetery, West Roxbury, Mass.[[In-content Ad]]
