OBITUARY
Rev. J. Daniel Nolan, 76
A native of Troy raised in Mechanicville, after college he was drafted by the Washington Redskins and later went to the Pittsburgh Steelers. He served in the Army Reserves and was ordained for the Albany Diocese in 1966, serving in the Albany Diocese and as chaplain at Georgia Medical Center, then at the National Shrine of the Divine Mercy in Stockbridge, Mass.
Those who knew him called Father Nolan a "compassionate man of the cloth" who served many who visited the Divine Mercy shrine. After an interesting life and five decades of priesthood, may he rest in the arms of God.
Survivors include his brothers, Thomas and John. Interment was in St. Peter's Cemetery, Saratoga.[[In-content Ad]]
