REFLECTION
Prayer for my parish
Strengthen our Church, spread throughout the world. Bless Pope Francis and our Bishop, around whom we find unity and truth. Bless our priests and pastors, that their lives will be an example to us, so that we can make the necessary sacrifices to live an authentic Christian life.
Bless the families of our parish. Make them strong. Bestow graces on our seniors, singles, children, teens and college students. Strengthen our sick, dying, shut-ins, hospitalized and all in need. Give hope to those who are in the midst of painful relationships and those grieving the loss of a loved one. Enable all who struggle to live a chaste life in the midst of these provocative times to find the help they need in the abundant graces of Word and sacrament.
Make our parish a beacon of light, drawing more people into a living relationship with Christ. May other family members, friends and neighbors enter the safety of the Church, founded by Christ, for us and for the salvation of the world.
Enable our community to proclaim and witness to the Gospel of life. Be with us at every stage of our journey in this life. Keep us rooted and consistent in our union with you, so that one day, we can share in the fullness of life and joy in your kingdom that has no end. We ask this through Christ our Lord, asking the intercession of Mary, the Mother of the Church and the Mother of us all. Amen.
(Father Morrette is pastor of All Saints on the Hudson parish in Mechanicville/Stillwater. He wrote this for Christmas.)[[In-content Ad]]
