GOOD NEWS FOR KIDS
POWER THROUGH WITH JESUS
Jesus, help me pray, power through and lean on people for support to finish the end of the school year! Amen.
After Jesus came back to life, the Apostles went to Galilee, where He had told them to go. He met them there and said, "Go to everyone on earth and make them my disciples. Baptize them and teach them to follow what I taught, and I will be with you forever."
It's that time of year when kids never get to stand still. You're running from final exams to class trips to babysitting to the last game of the year to registering for summer and fall classes, lessons, camps, sports -- and more!
It's a sure bet the Apostles felt a lot like you. In this week's Gospel (Matthew 28:16-20), they're still trying to understand that Jesus, who died on the cross, has come back to life -- but Jesus isn't letting them sit around and think much about that.
Instead, He tells them to get up and head to Galilee, so they can start teaching people about Him and carrying on His work.
The Apostles must be as exhausted as a kid near the end of the school year. Like you, they have a million things to do and a lot of emotions; like you, they probably feel like they don't have time to breathe. What's a kid or an Apostle to do? Trust in Jesus, talk with people about what's going on for you, and power through.
For the Apostles, hearing "go to everyone on earth and make them my disciples" was probably like you realizing you have two tests and baseball practice today and then you have to go sign up for a lifeguarding course. But Jesus helped the Apostles, and He'll help you.
Remember, when He said to do everything, He didn't say, "All at the same time." Each Apostle started by talking to a few people about Jesus. You can start by studying for the tests that are coming up soon. Eventually, everything important will get done![[In-content Ad]]
