Phys ed teaches respect, trust and teamwork
I like many different subjects in school. One of my favorites is physical education. I like physical education because I like to play sports. Physical education also makes me think about my faith for many reasons.
You many not think that physical education would make me think about my faith, but it does. It teaches me about respect. We should respect our classmates and teachers. Jesus’ followers respected Him as a teacher. The followers also had to respect each other to get along.
In physical education, I learn about teamwork. When I play a game, I have to rely on my teammates to help me accomplish our goal. Jesus and His followers used teamwork, too; Jesus would not have been able to spread the word of faith by Himself. Jesus had to rely on His followers who were like His team to spread the word.
When Jesus was having a problem, His followers were there for Him. When His followers were having a problem, Jesus helped them get back on their feet.
In physical education, we learn about trust. Trust is like teamwork, but it goes deeper than that. You have to trust your classmates will not make fun of you if you make a mistake. You have to trust your team to help you accomplish your goal. Jesus’ followers had to trust that Jesus was the Son of God.
Now that I think about my faith in physical education, it gives me more pleasure to play sports and to also live out God’s message!
