THE FEAST OF ST. FRANCIS of Assisi is a popular time for blessings of animals in the Albany Diocese. Here are just a few parishes where you can get your pet blessed:

SAT., OCT. 3

• after 9 a.m. Mass, pavilion at St. Madeleine Sophie parish, Schenectady

• 10 a.m., parking lot at Immaculate Conception parish, Glenville (live or stuffed animals; donations of dog and cat food for Animal Protection Foundation appreciated)

• 10 a.m., parking lot at Immaculate Heart of Mary parish, Watervliet

• 11 a.m., St. Edward's parish, Clifton Park

• noon, St. John the Baptist parish, Valatie

• noon, in front of rectory at St. Mary's parish, Granville

• noon, in front of St. Gabriel's parish, Rotterdam

• 1 p.m., parking lot at St. Joseph's, Scotia

• 2 p.m., St. Patrick's parish, Cambridge

• 2 p.m., St. Patrick's parish, Ravena (with participation of children in faith formation program)

• 4 p.m. , St. Joseph's parish, Stottville

• during 4:30 p.m. Mass, Sacred Heart parish, Castleton (stuffed animals only)

SUN., OCT. 4

• after 9 a.m. Mass, St. Anthony's parish, Troy (bring pet food for Mohawk Hudson Humane Society)

• after 11:15 a.m. Mass, Notre Dame-Visitation, Schuylerville
