Order selects leaders
The Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet, Albany Province, selected their new Province Leadership Team at a recent meeting of members at St. Joseph's Provincial House in Latham.
The new team members include Sisters Anna Mae Collins, Johanne McCarthy, Christine Partisano, Ranah Phelan, Mary Catherine (Kay) Ryan and Sharon Whellahan.
Sister Kay will serve as province director; Sister Christine, as first councilor; and Sister Phelan, as the third member of the Province Executive Committee.
Three of the new leaders have links to the Albany Diocese:
* Sister Christine, a native of St. Francis de Sales parish in Troy, has been a Sister of St. Joseph for 41 years.
* Sister Ranah, a native of St. Michael the Archangel parish in South Glens Falls, is principal of St. Mary's School in Ballston Spa. She has been a member of the order for 40 years.
* Sister Kay, a Sister of St. Joseph for 35 years, has worked in the Family Life Office in the Albany Diocese as coordinator for separated, divorced and widowed persons, and as director of the Family Life Office.
The newly elected sisters will serve four-year terms.
