ANNOUNCEMENT
New principals around Diocese
• Christopher Signor will be principal of Bishop Maginn High School in Albany. He was principal at Saratoga Central Catholic High School from 2005-09. He replaces head of school Joseph Salamack and associate head Joseph Grasso as Maginn moves to a new location and institutes a new administrative model.
• Joseph Slichko, who has been principal at St. Augustine's School in Troy for four years, will become principal of Holy Spirit School in East Greenbush, replacing retiring principal Michael Piatek.
• Timothy Forti, most recently a teacher at Boston College High School, a Jesuit preparatory school in Boston, will lead St. Mary's/St. Alphonsus School in Glens Falls, replacing retiring principal Kathryn Fowler.
• Giovanni Virgiglio, currently principal of St. Mary's Institute in Amsterdam, will now be diocesan associate superintendent of Schools. He will help to ensure the overall health and vitality of Catholic education in the Diocese's 23 schools.
• Ninette Kondratowicz has been appointed director of curriculum, instruction and assessment for the diocesan Catholic Schools Office. She will be responsible for ensuring Catholic curriculum and enhancing instructional practices in the schools. She was previously principal at Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons School in Schenectady and recently served as an interim principal at St. Kateri Tekakwitha School in Schenectady. Diocesan assistant superintendents John Soja and Ernest Casile have retired from their positions.
