* area's second accredited school of x-ray technology opened (later transferred to Hudson Valley Community College in Troy)
* region's first post-operative recovery room opened
1970s
* dental residency program established* Family Practice Residency Program and Family Health Center for low-income families established
* two-storey house on hospital grounds donated to Hospice program
1980s
* hospital transmits EKG data via telephone to Lake Placid Winter Olympics* first use of microsurgical microscope in Schenectady to reattach man's five severed fingers
* laser surgical suite for eyes created
* cardiac rehab center opened
* first medical arts building constructed
1990s
* hospital opens two more buildings, inpatient dialysis unit, inpatient Hospice unit, "Recovery Zone" day care for sick children, gastroenterology unit, Sleep Disorders Center, Cleft Palate Center* critical care area completed
* Family Birthing Center and Mother-Baby Unit finished
* surgical center constructed
