MAKING ADVENT WREATHS

PARISHIONERS OF SACRED HEART Church in Cairo had a special gathering to make Advent wreaths. Catholics light a candle in the wreath each Sunday of Advent as Christmas approaches and the light of Christ comes into the world.

The Advent wreath, with its three purple candles and one pink candle, symbolizes the coming of Christ, the Light of the World; the evergreen boughs are a symbol of everlasting life.
