Maginn campus gets new tenant
Green Tech will relocate from its current building at 321 Northern Boulevard in Albany to the Slingerland Street campus for the 2016-17 school year. School officials said the move will help Green Tech direct more of its funding into its academic program, and alleviates space limitations at its current facility.
Bishop Maginn High School, which relocated to the former Cathedral Academy building at 75 Park Avenue in Albany last year, currently enrolls approximately 133 students, including 35 Karen refugees from Myanmar.
"We are very pleased and thankful that we have reached an agreement with the Roman Catholic Diocese of Albany that will allow us to continue the positive learning environment we provide for our young men," said Dr. Paul Miller, principal of Green Tech, about using Maginn's former campus.
Green Tech opened in 2008 and enrolls around 350 students each year. Its graduation rate is 91 percent, with all graduates earning acceptance into college. For more information, see www.GreenTechHigh.org.[[In-content Ad]]
