MOLLY TOWNE OF ST. CLEMENT'S parish in Saratoga Springs (top photo, second from right, and at right) participates in the beatification ceremony for Blessed Solanus Casey, an American who was a Capuchin Franciscan monk, in November in Detroit. Miss Towne was stillborn in 1984 and, when she was revived and put in the NICU, a scapular with a picture of Blessed Solanus was placed beside her. She survived and is now a young adult. Famous for his counsel and credited with miraculous cures during his lifetime, Blessed Solanus is special to Miss Towne and her family, who credit him with her survival.
