OBITUARY

Jay Feeney


A funeral Mass was offered March 4 at St. Mary's Church, Albany, for John Jay Feeney, who died Feb. 28. He was 88. A native of Haverstraw, N.Y., he was a World War II Navy veteran and had been a certified public accountant, deputy comptroller for New York State, director of Gov. Mario Cuomo's office of management and productivity and, in the 1990s, the first lay chancellor for the Albany Diocese; he served as diocesan chancellor for finance and administration.

Survivors include his children, Christine Ferrara of Fairfield, Conn.; Jayne Feeney of Belmont, Mass.; Susan Marks of Syracuse; John of New York and Andrew of Albany; 15 grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.[[In-content Ad]]
