Human anatomy reflects creator
Creating each and every one of us with delicacy and purpose, God reveals His intricate work through science more than most acknowledge. David knew this when he cried out in Psalm 139: 13-14, "For you formed my inward parts; you covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; marvelous are your works, and that my soul knows very well."
Anatomy and physiology have increased my personal understanding of the perfect design of the human body. It is the Lord’s ultimate design achievement.
The omnipotence of God can be clearly seen through the carefully planned physiology of our bodies. The body makes a wider variety of chemicals than the total sum of all chemists in the world and does a job more efficiently than human science can ever hope to do.
The human body also converts fuel to energy more efficiently than the best engine that human science can design, and it processes information hundreds of thousands of times faster than the best computer in the world!
Clearly, the human body is the most elegantly designed "machine" imaginable. The Lord wants us to also keep ourselves pure, for our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit (I Corinthians 6:10) that should only desire to glory Him. We were bought with the price of Jesus’ blood and are not our own; we are His.
Studying the human body allows me to fully grasp what God intended for His creation. As I learn the details of each bone and understand the physiology of the functions of each organ, God has shown me through His word that He made us with a purpose that glorifies Him and is designed uniquely for us. Not only did He care to specifically create us to the last hair on our head, but He also cares about our concerns and worries.
Fashioning us into His perfect creation, he gave us the free will to come and acknowledge Him as our Creator, which depicts how great His love is. Truly, studying anatomy and physiology has helped me grow in faith and allowed me to learn more about the character of the One who created us.
