Healing service at charismatic day

On April 21, Maria Vadia, a popular Catholic lay evangelist with an international healing ministry, will return to St. Edward's parish in Clifton Park as part of a diocesan Catholic Charismatic Renewal healing and renewal day.

Ms. Vadia, a native Cuban, moved to Miami as a child and has traveled the world for more than two decades offering healing services to the sick and preaching the Gospel.

Q: What can Albany Diocese Catholics expect from a healing experience?

People can expect healing when they come to a healing seminar, because Jesus will be there! Everywhere Jesus went, He healed people. He's the same yesterday, today and forever and He expects us to carry on with His works, including healing.

Q: Why should people attend, especially if they've gone to something similar before?

The anointing of the Holy Spirit is fresh every time and healing is always received. The more open a person is to the Holy Spirit, the more that person will receive. Everyone needs healing and each time the healing will go deeper. We are spirit, soul and body; healing is received in these three levels.

Q: What does this work mean to you?

It's an awesome privilege to co-labor with the Holy Spirit to carry on with the works of Jesus. Jesus said that the same works He was doing, we would do, and even greater works (John 14:12). Healing is part of our inheritance and believers should know that on the cross, Jesus took all [the world's] sicknesses and illnesses so that they could be healed (Isaiah 53:5; 1 Peter 2:24). God wants us well! He has already provided for our healing. Jesus had a passion for seeing people made whole, healed and freed - and now it's the Church that carries on with His mission.

I do what I do because the Lord has called me to do it! It's my life! I want to give Jesus the rewards of His sufferings.

("Jesus Heals Today" will be offered April 21, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Cost is $20 until April 14 and $25 at the door. For information, call 371-7911.)[[In-content Ad]]
