Healing is topic of workshop
So says Marie Grigaitis. She and her husband, Deacon Jerry Grigaitis of St. Edward's parish in Clifton Park, are the Albany Diocese's liaisons for the Charismatic Renewal Commission. They are coordinating a Day of Healing and Teaching, May 4, at LaSalle Institute in Troy, that will feature Rev. Matthew Linn, SJ. The day includes sessions on healing relationships with God, others and self. A healing prayer at 3 p.m. and a liturgy at 4 conclude the day.
Father Linn lives in St. Paul, Minn., where he teaches spiritual direction to Jesuit seminarians. For the past 30 years, he has focused on integrating physical, spiritual and emotional healing. Since 1970, he has taught numerous courses and given retreats on healing in more than 50 countries, including India and Australia. He has co-authored 18 books on the healing process, including "Healing of Memories" and "Healing Spiritual Abuse and Religious Addiction."
Father Linn incorporates into his presentations the 12-Step healing process developed by Alcoholics Anonymous and the five stages of grieving developed by Elisabeth Kubler-Ross.
(The Albany Diocesan Service Committee's Day of Healing and Teaching, May 4, 9 a.m.-5 p.m., at LaSalle Institute in Troy, will feature Rev. Matthew Linn, SJ. Registration at the door is $15. Call Deacon Jerry Grigaitis or Marie Grigaitis at 371-7911.)
