HELP FOR PARISHES
Grants fund religious education, youth ministry around Diocese
The Albany diocesan Office of Evangelization and Catechesis has announced its Capital Campaign Grants for Rural and Urban Parish Catechetical and Youth Ministry Programs:
* $15,000 to the cluster parishes of St. Patrick's, Cambridge, and Holy Cross, Salem, towards the salary of a full-time youth ministry/adult faith formation leader;
* $15,000 to St. Mary's, Hudson Falls, towards the hiring and training of an assistant catechetical leader to begin the process of expanding catechetical leadership to prepare for future cluster programming;
* $15,000 to the cluster parishes of St. Bonaventure, Speigletown, and Holy Trinity, Schaghticoke, towards the hiring of a pastoral associate for evangelization and ministry development, with a special concentration in the area of youth ministry;
* $10,000 to St. Stanislaus parish, Amsterdam, towards the salary of a part-time professional catechetical leader and the continued development of a comprehensive faith formation program;
* $7,000 to St. Thomas, Cherry Valley, and its missions (Blessed Sacrament, Springfield Center, and St. Mary's, Sharon Springs) towards the salary of the parish life associate for her ministry as a part-time catechetical/youth ministry leader;
* $5,000 to St. John Vianney parish in Claverack for computers, printers and technology assistance;
* $5,000 to St. Patrick's, Troy, for program support and supplies, catechist formation, retreats, sacramental program development, adult faith formation, youth ministry, and audio visual equipment; and
* $5,000 to the cluster parishes of St. Mary of Mt. Carmel and Sacred Heart, Gloversville, towards the staffing of a part-time youth minister.
The grants come from an endowment established from donations given by Catholics throughout the Diocese during Capital Campaign 2000.
