Display moves to Ilion church
The official Sesquicentennial Exhibition has now arrived at its seventh site: Annunciation Church in Ilion.
The Herkimer County location marks the westernmost stop on the exhibit's tour of the Albany Diocese. The location is accessible to those with handicaps.
The historical display will remain in Ilion until Oct. 24 when it moves on to Gathering '97 at Hudson Valley Community College in Troy.
Previously, the display has been viewed by thousands of people during stops in Albany, Oneonta, Latham, Schenectady, Queensbury and Hudson Falls.
The exhibition, which debuted in May, consists of 12 panels showing diocesan history in photos, documents and text.
(The Sesquicentennial Exhibition is open for viewing at Annunciation Church in Ilion, from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. seven days a week. The remaining sites for the exhibition's 1997 tour will be announced in The Evangelist as they occur.)
