ABUSE PREVENTION
Diocese continues training sessions
More than 6,000 employees and volunteers throughout the Albany Diocese have completed "Protecting God's Children," a child abuse recognition and prevention program.
Developed by Virtus, a division of the National Risk Retention Group, the program has three main objectives: awareness of child sexual abuse, recognizing the signs of such abuse and knowing what to do if abuse is suspected. The ultimate goal is to provide safe environments for children and young people.
The training is offered throughout the Diocese. While registration is not required, doing so would be helpful for planners and can be done on-line at www.rcda.org.
