OBITUARY
Deacon Thomas E. Luby
A native of Long Island, he was a pharmacist who owned Redwing Pharmacy in Middle Island, N.Y., then worked for Rite Aid in Delhi until he retired in 2010. In 1980, he and his wife and two other couples established Gilead, a small Christian community under the auspices of the Diocese of Albany. As a deacon, he served at Sacred Heart parish in Sidney and Our Lady of Fatima in Delanson.
Survivors include his wife, Noel; children, Maryellen King of West Sand Lake, Thomas of Needham, Mass., and Patricia Kilburn of Amsterdam; eight grandchildren; and siblings Stephen of San Diego and Eileen Dunne of Abilene, Tx. Interment was in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna.[[In-content Ad]]
