UPCOMING EVENT
Charismatic leads healing weekend
Q: How would you describe your ministry?
Mr. Canton: The Lord has called me to the ministry of preaching, teaching and healing in Jesus' name. I have been to 44 countries so far, conducting seminars, retreats, days of renewal, healing rallies and healing crusades and speaking at conferences and conventions. I started doing this ministry outside the U.S. in 1991, seven years after I received a prophecy of my future involvement in the healing ministry worldwide.
Q: What accounts for the growth of the charismatic Catholic movement?
Mr. Canton: Many people have been evangelized and have come to know the Lordship of Jesus Christ and have established a personal relationship with the Lord through their reception of the baptism of the Holy Spirit, a grace in which a person experiences the presence and power of the Holy Spirit which makes him a new person inside - or, simply put, a conversion experience.
The Catholic Charismatic Renewal promotes the baptism of the Holy Spirit and the reception and use of the gifts of the Holy Spirit (as mentioned in I Cor 12) for the building up of the Church, to serve the body of Christ and for personal sanctification. By being actively "charismatics," many have discovered religious vocations.
I believe this is one of the biggest reasons for the phenomenal growth of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal in many parts of the world, especially in Latin and South America and in Asia and Africa.
Q: Why should people attend this particular event?
Mr. Canton: I urge everybody to come to experience the loving, saving and healing power of the living God, Jesus Christ, who is still healing people by the power of the Holy Spirit. This is affirmed in the Scriptures, Hebrews 13:8: "Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever." I have witnessed many people who walked from wheelchairs; the deaf able to hear; the blind seeing; people claiming that abnormal growths have disappeared; and those oppressed by depression, fear, panic attacks and addictions being set free by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Jesus is the divine healer, and He is with us to heal our wounds, illnesses and afflictions. We have nothing to lose but our sickness if we ask and trust Him.
