Brother John T. Thornton, CSC

A funeral Mass was offered Dec. 12 at St. Joseph's Center, Valatie, for Brother John Thornton, who died Dec. 3. He was 86 and had been a Holy Cross brother for 55 years.

A native of Philadelphia, he served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and worked for the U.S. Postal Service before entering the Congregation of the Holy Cross; as a brother, he served as a school headmaster/ dean in Rome, Italy, and Austin, Tx., and was administrator at St. Joseph's Center in Valatie.

Interment was in the St. Joseph's Center Cemetery, Valatie.[[In-content Ad]]
