Booklet nears for Gloversville church
A keepsake booklet commemorating the 75th anniversary of Sacred Heart Church in Gloversville will be ready for parish-wide distribution in June.
Parish Council President Barbara Reith said a professional photographer will be at the church at noon on April 20 to take portraits of catechists, choir members, Eucharistic ministers, lectors, trustees, ushers, altar servers, acolytes and others who are involved in parish ministries and organizations.
"We're asking everyone who participates in any of these groups, as well as Boy Scout Troop 15, Respect Life Committee members, officers of the Rosary Society, the Holy Name Society and the Social Club to join us for the photo session," said Ms. Reith.
Group shots taken that afternoon will be published in a booklet that includes highlights of the church's history and development.
The parish generally regards Christmas Day 1921 as the date of its official founding, and a Mass marking the milestone was celebrated at Sacred Heart by Bishop Howard J. Hubbard in January. (AH)
