Christian Brothers Academy continued to roll last week, defeating two Big T rivals. On Dec. 8, Kameron Ritter scored 20 points to lead the Colonie school over Albany's Bishop Maginn High, 72-61. Max Weaver also contributed 16 points for the Brothers.
On Dec. 11, Ritter (22 points) and Weaver (20) teamed up again to lead CBA past arch-rival LaSalle 71-61. The wins improved CBA to 3-0.
Meanwhile, Bishop Maginn bounced back from their loss at CBA with a 61-56 victory over Albany High on Dec. 11. Shavar Fields and John Scurry each scored 17 points for the Griffins, improving them to 2-1.
Also on Dec. 11, two Catholic schools played what turned out to be a thriller, with Catholic Central High School in Troy edging out Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons in Schenectady 56-54. James Vice of ND-BG led all scorers in a losing effort with 24 points. Sam Clement and Shiva Senthil led CCHS with 12 points each.
Fonda defeated Saratoga Central Catholic 70-40.
Holy Names continued to bowl over their opposition with a 64-43 victory against Mechanicville on Dec. 11. Sarah Egan had 21 points for AHN, leading all scorers and helping boost their record to 4-0.
Bishop Maginn suffered their first loss of the season in their Big Ten opener against Albany High, 47-36. The Griffins were outscored 11-2 in the third quarter after being down 25-24 at halftime. Janae Lyde had 14 points for Maginn.
In other games, Fonda defeated Saratoga Central Catholic 62-23 and Catholic Central beat Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons 59-19.
