PRAYER FOR THE WEEK
Jesus, help me understand that it's OK not to have every question answered. Amen!

A man begged Jesus, "My daughter is dying. Please, come save her." Jesus went, but when they got there, the girl had died. Jesus asked everyone, "Why are you crying? The girl is not dead; she's just sleeping." They laughed at Him, but He took her hand and said, "Little girl, get up!"
And the girl sat up, alive and well again.

Kids are full of questions - and expect adults to have all the answers. "What's the highest someone ever jumped? Why is the sky blue? What happens when we die?"

It's disappointing when a grownup says, "I don't know." Why don't they know? Shouldn't they know everything? If they don't know, shouldn't they be able to find out?

Some people are really smart, but no one in the world knows everything. But in this week's Gospel (Mark 5:21-43), we're reminded that God does.

When the little girl in the story got very sick, people thought Jesus would just cure her. Then she died, and they thought it was too late. And when Jesus said she was only sleeping, everyone laughed! They figured He didn't know what He was talking about.

Then Jesus healed the girl. She sat right up, and He told her family to give her some lunch!

People don't know everything - but some people act like they do. The people in the Gospel story acted like they knew what God could and couldn't do. They acted like Jesus wasn't very smart.

A smart adult knows the answers to some of your questions. God is much smarter than any person, though! God knows all the answers - but that doesn't mean Jesus had to explain Himself. Jesus didn't talk about how He knew He could save the girl; He just did it.

Sometimes, you don't get the answer, but you can still trust the person you're bugging with all your questions![[In-content Ad]]
