An adult that has influenced my life
He still is doing for other people. He helped in the building of two public housing buildings in Albany and the Teresian House Nursing Home.
He taught me so much about my Catholic faith. My uncle is the person who baptized me into my Catholic religion. That means so much to me.
He has always influenced me to always believe in my faith and God. I have learned to pray at night and give my own intentions to those in need. I also learned about the different saints and found that St. Anthony is my favorite saint to pray to.
My uncle has been a great role model for me to follow. He is always encouraging me to read books and do my best in all my subjects in school.
I try to make him proud of how hard I work in school. He always asks me what I am learning in religion and is usually always pleased and surprised in how much I know. I am happy that I have a great religion teacher to help me better understand my faith.
My uncle has been present at every religious celebration during my childhood. He was there for me during my Baptism, Reconciliation and my First Holy Communion. All these occasions made me feel very important and more of a part of my parish.
My uncle is older now, and I can only repay him by helping him with what he is physically incapable of doing. I enjoy volunteering my time to be with him after school days or on weekends. We love to take car rides. It makes me feel so happy and fulfilled to know that I can do so much good for my uncle and my family. Whenever they need my assistance, whether it be my friends or family, I try to be a helping hand when they need it.
I'm glad I had this chance to tell you a bit about my uncle, who has done so much for me and for so many other people. Without him, I may not be the same person that I turned out to be today. He is a model person for all Christians to follow.
