I really enjoy fourth grade. My teacher, Ms. Larkin, is really nice. When we have free time, she lets us read books. She reads books aloud to us like, “The BFG” and more. The important message in The BFG is that you should never judge someone by how they look. I like this message because it reminds me how important it is to be kind to everyone.

We are challenged a lot in school. We read long chapter books, 300 pages or more! We do difficult math and science, but I’m able to keep up and complete all my work. My favorite subject is physical education, because I like sports and love to run around. We do laps around the gym and play dodge ball. My gym teacher, Mrs. Loughlin, inspires us to play fair and teaches us good sportsmanship.

My favorite part of going to a Catholic school is that I get to learn about my faith. I like that I get to attend Mass and Reconciliation, and that I was able to make my First Holy Communion with my classmates.

Another cool thing about Catholic school is that I get to altar serve. I usually serve Mass once or twice a month. Before I started altar serving, I thought Mass was boring, but now I understand the Mass better and take it more seriously. I know that Jesus loves me and attending Mass and altar serving helps me feel close to Him.

I have made great friends at St. Ambrose and have enjoyed going to Catholic school so much that I plan to attend a Catholic middle school and high school.
