A funeral Mass was offered Jan. 15 in the Teresian House chapel, Albany, for Sister Janith "Jan" McNabb, who died Jan. 7. She was 94 and had entered the Society of the Sacred Heart in 1943.

A native of Grosse Ile, Mich., she taught in Detroit, Connecticut, Rochester, Massachusetts, New York City and Chicago, and at the Convent of the Sacred Heart at Kenwood in Albany. She was also a community worker for the Green Street Project in Albany; a social worker, medical secretary and YWCA project supervisor in New York City; provincial secretary for her order; coordinator of special projects for the Archdiocese of Detroit; chaplain for the Department of Corrections at Rikers Island in New York; coordinator of detention ministry for the Diocese of San Jose, Calif.; a hospital chaplain and director of pastoral care in San Jose; and chaplain for the Visiting Nurse Association.

Survivors include siblings Alan of Pittsfield, Mass., and Sister Mary de Sales of Washington, D.C. Interment was in the Society of the Sacred Heart Cemetery at Kenwood.
