Sister Carol Anne Porter, CSJ

A funeral Mass was offered Dec. 29 in the chapel of St. Joseph's Provincial House, Latham, for Sister Carol Anne Porter, who died Dec. 22. She was 79 and had been a Sister of St. Joseph of Carondelet for 59 years.
A native of Albany, she taught for 10 years in schools of the Albany and Syracuse Dioceses, then served in special education at Carondelet Educational Center in Latham and the Cerebral Palsy Treatment and Educational Facility (Center for Disability Services) in Albany. For 18 years, she was principal of St. Patrick's School in Troy; then she was a pastoral associate for faith formation at St. Patrick's parish in Ravena. Until retiring, she was transportation coordinator and a pharmacy aide at St. Joseph's Provincial House.
Survivors include siblings Jean of Albany, John of Delmar and William of Poughkeepsie. Interment was in Our Lady Queen of Virgins Cemetery, Latham.
